The Milan Stock Exchange operates higher this Monday (24), the day of the first trading session after the possession of Giorgia Meloni as Prime Minister of Italy.

At around 13:40 pm (local time), the FTSE MIB index showed an appreciation of 1,74%, with highlights being the shares of Campari (+3,65%) and Pirelli (+3,47%).

Meloni took office as prime minister last weekend and appointed deputy Giancarlo Giorgetti, right-hand man to leader Matteo Salvini, as Economy minister.

Giorgetti is considered a moderate within the League party and was once Minister of Economic Development under Mario Draghi.
