The objective of the agreement is to strengthen collaboration between the two nations in the scientific and technological field
The governments of Brazil and Italy signed a memorandum of understanding for the financing of activities provided for in article 2 of the bilateral agreement on scientific cooperation, dated February 1997.
The document will last three years and aims to strengthen collaboration between the two nations in the scientific and technological field.
The main sectors covered in the memorandum are: aerospace, renewable energy, raw materials, environment and agriculture.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed: citizenship is born with the person.

The memorandum was signed on July 30th, in Brasília, at an event attended by the following:
- Antonio Bernardini, ambassador of Italy;
- Evaldo Ferreira Vilela, president of the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (Confap);
- Luis Fernando Machado, head of the technological promotion division at Itamaraty;
- Maria Zaira Turchi, director of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications.
According to the Italian Embassy, the measure is considered the first step in the selection of research projects that will be co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and State Foundations (FAPs), reports the Ansa agency.
The methods for publicizing funds and selection, however, will still be defined through a specific notice, which is currently being produced.
With the new measure, the expectation is that the intergovernmental cooperation mechanisms provided for in the agreement signed in February 1997 will be reactivated.
