Final result of the poll on elections in Italy in September

Undefined

It is worth remembering that the names were suggested by Italianism based on their performance and influence in the Italian-Brazilian community and the results are not official.

Some have already decided that they will not be candidates, such as second place in the poll, Stephania Puton, as well as Daniel Taddone and Walter Petruzziello.

The current deputy Fausto Longo (Democratic Party) will not be a candidate for a new term and the senator Fabio Porta (Democratic Party) has not yet decided whether it will run for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies or the Italian Senate.

Moreover, Andrea Matarazzo, from the Italian Socialist Party, former Brazilian ambassador to Italy and candidate for mayor of São Paulo in 2020, confirmed that he intends to run for a seat in the Italian Parliament.

Early elections

The elections for the Italian Parliament, initially scheduled for March 2023, were brought forward to September 25 after the resignation of Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

The political reform approved in 2020 reduced the number of representatives from abroad in Italy's Parliament from 18 (12 deputies and six senators) to 12 (eight deputies and four senators).

Of this total, the South American constituency will be entitled to two deputies and one senator.
