25.273 Brazilians are eligible to vote in Italy in the election taking place this Sunday, according to the Brazilian Embassy in Rome.
In Rome, voters face a short queue to cast their ballots. Street vendors take advantage of the area where the polling stations are located to sell drinks and Brazilian snacks, such as our famous coxinha.
Abroad Electoral Zone
Voters registered in the Foreign Electoral Zone must justify their absence from the polls only in presidential elections, if they are outside their electoral domicile or have not voted. The electoral justification can be delivered to the diplomatic missions or consular offices of the country in which the voter is located or can be sent by the Justify System.
Voters registered abroad only vote for president. Voting outside Brazil is organized by the TRE-DF, with support from the Brazilian Consultar Network in each country. Polling stations abroad they operate mainly at embassy headquarters, consular offices or in places where there are Brazilian government services, according to Itamaraty.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed: citizenship is born with the person.

According to the Electoral Code, at least 30 voters are required to create polling stations abroad. Voters who reside abroad and have not updated their data will not be able to vote in these elections, as the deadline was May 9th of this year. For voters who live outside Brazil and want to regularize their situation, the 'Título Net Exterior' pre-service will be reinstated on November 5th this year. As those registered abroad only vote for president, this voter will only be able to vote from the 2022 elections onwards.

In partnership with the Electoral Court, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the voting scheme for Brazilian voters by sending 1.424 ballot boxes to 125 countries, in a total of 743 sections distributed in 171 cities.
For three years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Electoral Justice have been working in partnership to encourage the enlistment of Brazilians living abroad and facilitate the voting of emigrants. The “title net exterior” was created, an instrument that allows electoral registration and transfer in real time.
