According to the AISE news agency, ten union members from Flai Cgil have departed for Cuba on a solidarity and cooperation mission, with activities planned until August 21. The delegation is part of the third European Train “Sulle tracce di Fidel” (In Fidel's Footsteps), supported by AICEC, the agency for cultural and economic exchange with Cuba, within the framework of the international campaign “Let Cuba Breathe,” marking the centenary of Fidel Castro.
The mission includes delivering donations to agricultural and mountainous communities, as well as educational and sanitary materials to schools and hospitals. Flai Cgil maintains a partnership with Sntiap, the Cuban union of the agro-industrial and fishing sector, and since 2024 has been sending photovoltaic equipment to circumvent the blackouts caused by the United States embargo on Cuba.
