According to the Italian newspaper Il Tempo, the president of the Italian parliamentary commission on Covid, Marco Lisei, has requested documentation from the Ministry of Health regarding the €100 million compensation agreement signed with JC Electronics, a supplier of masks during the pandemic. The Rome Court ordered the Italian state to pay €280 million due to an error by former commissioner Domenico Arcuri. According to Lisei, the agreement was suggested by the State Attorney's Office and approved by the Court of Auditors, and is said to have saved the public coffers more than €200 million.

The controversy involves statements from former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and opposition commissioners, who criticized the agreement.
