According to the RaiNews portal, RAI decided to preemptively suspend the summer reruns of the program Report after the Fratelli d'Italia party filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office requesting clarification on the relationship between journalist Sigfrido Ranucci and businessman Valter Lavitola, who is being investigated for alleged renewable energy deals in Lazio. Investigators are analyzing materials seized at Lavitola's home, including seven manuscripts, three cell phones, and two pen drives.
Ranucci denied any connection: "There is no investigation by Report conditioned by Lavitola," he told the ANSA news agency. The journalist described RAI's decision as "shameful conjecture" and said he was dismayed.
