Tourist trains in Italy are expanding, so much so that the country is working on a new rail link between Milan and the Côte d'Azur, part of the southern coast of France.
The route linking the two nations is expected to open to the public only next summer in the Northern Hemisphere, while the train line that will run between Rome and Cortina d'Ampezzo It is scheduled to reopen at the end of February.

The aim of the Rome-Cortina line is to allow snow sports enthusiasts to travel comfortably to the mountainous areas of northern Italy. The train actually goes as far as Calalzo di Cadore, where travelers board a dedicated bus for the final leg to the Cortina team station.
