Palmeiras is preparing a new tribute to its Italian origins. The third kit for the 2026 season is expected to be blue and prominently feature the Savoy Cross, one of the oldest symbols in the club's history.
According to information published by Jogada10 and Nosso Palestra, the jersey is expected to be worn for the first time against Vasco on August 23rd, three days before Palmeiras' 112th anniversary. The club's official schedule confirms the match for 16 PM at Nubank Parque, for the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship.
Sales are expected to begin between August 21 and 22. Palmeiras and Puma, however, had not yet officially presented the third uniform as of this Monday (17).
The symbol came from Italy.
The Savoy Cross has a direct connection to the early years of what was then Palestra Italia. The symbol belonged to the House of Savoy, the royal family that ruled Italy, and was part of the Italian flag in use when the club was founded in 1914.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed: citizenship is born with the person.
- New legal front opened
- Processes can still be filed.
- Individual assessment before any decision.
According to Palmeiras itself, the board imported a set of jerseys with the Savoy Cross from Italy for the 1916 São Paulo Championship. The emblem was used from Palestra Italia's first official match, against Mackenzie, in May of that year, until April 1917.
The inspiration also had a connection to Italian football. Pro Vercelli, one of the teams that toured Brazil in 1914 and helped stimulate the creation of a club representing the Italian community of São Paulo, used the Savoy Cross on its uniform.
Founded on August 26, 1914 like Palestra ItaliaThe current Palmeiras was founded with the goal of uniting and representing the large Italian community in São Paulo.
Italy's colors are already appearing on the 2026 uniforms.
A tribute to Italian origins It didn't start with the future third jersey. In the home and away kits presented in January for the 2026 season, Palmeiras and Puma already incorporated explicit references to Italy.
The green shirt features details in green, white, and red, while the white uniform has a collar in the three colors of the Italian flag. Both models also feature an Italian flag near the collar in homage to the Italian-Brazilians responsible for founding the club.
Featuring the Savoy Cross, the third kit should deepen this historical connection and revive an emblem that accompanied Palestra Italia in its early days in São Paulo football.
